The part I remember the most about chapter 1 is how badly George felt after yelling at Lennie. It must be really difficult for George to care for Lennie. It also makes me wonder how George came to be the one to take care of Lennie.

The part that I remember the most is Lennie having a dead mouse in his pocket. I want to know why Lennie likes mice so much. Does he feel comforted by it, like he has something to take care of because he can’t take care of himself?

The part of the book that I remember the most is the part where George tells Lennie to go get wood for a fire and Lennie rune across the river to get the mouse that George threw. It makes it seem like he has a hard time letting things go.

The part that I remember most is when they are talking about how Lennie got them kicked out of the other ranches. It was kinda funny.

I remember that part as well, the part where he pulled the mouse out of his pocket, confused me at first. But Oh well.

The part that stood out to me most was when Lennie was carrying the dead mouse because he killed it.

The part that stood out to me the most was when Lennie said he was going to live in a cave and leave George alone and George said he didn’t want him to leave. This stood out to me because George needs Lennie to be with him cause they are so close friends.

The part of the chapter that I remember the most is when Lennie was petting the dead rat. This stood out to me because it showed how there might be something mentally wrong with Lennie.

I think that the most memorable part of chapter 1 was when Lennie picked up the mose and it was already dead and he just liked to pet it. Another part of the book that is memorable was when George told the storie about how Lennie liked t o kill mice.

Comment by skylar w

The part that i found that stuck with me the most was even when George got rid of the mouse Lennie contined to look for it.

Comment by doplato

Comment by epszczolkowski

The part that stood out the most to me was when George yelled at Lennie and when he felt bad after it because they only have each other.

The part that stuck out to me the most was when Lennie was petting the dead mouse. This shows how much he really likes the mice.

Comment by wamanda

I liked chapter one it was very well written the way the author described things. I think that George should just let Lennie have the mousse even if its dead to make Lennie happy

Comment by jalouis

I think many of the details of the first paragraph were easily memorible. The way the author described the setting, gave me a very good visual of the rolling hills, trees and rivers.

Comment by 10kmiller

I think the part when Lennie was petting the dead mouse and how he used to kill them.

Comment by rsarah

The part that I remembered the most was when Lennie went and found the dead mouse from before. I just thought that it was wierd because I never really thought that people cared that much about mice.

Comment by knwilliam

The part of the book that stood out the most was the beginning when the author described the setting. He talked about the river, trees, animals, and location. That gave me a great vision of where the book takes place.

Comment by emearhart

I remember how much Lennie liked soft things, the mice. I think he’s going to do something wrong or get in trouble for liking soft things so much. He’s already picked up a dead mouse just so he can pet it. Who knows what else he would do.

Comment by DavidOBrien722

I’ll remember most about how lennie and george were talking and how overpowering george was to lennie even though lennie is a lot bigger than george

Comment by seanfl

Yeah, the mouse part was weird. And just because he’s bigger than the other guy, doesn’t make him stronger.

Comment by busses

George is a busy man but also a man that cares about Lennie. Lennie is also a man who just wants a pet and he cant have it because George thinks its wrong to have a mouse as a pet.

Comment by Derrty

The part i remember the most about chapter 1 is lennie getting yelled at by George for him to give up his mouse.

Comment by fraglerock

THE PART I REMEMBER MOST ABOUT THIS SCETION IS WHEN WE LEARN THAT LENNIE LOVES FUR, BUT KILLS ALL THE PETS HE HAS.

Comment by timmypp

the part I remember is when Lennie pulled the mouse out of his pocket and him loving to kill them.

Comment by janisd

The part that i remember the most is when lennie was getting yelled at by gorge for having a dead mouse in his pocket. I don’t really see why it would bother George that much i mean if lennie wants a dead mouse i believe that he should be able to keep it.If it is something that makes him feel better then he should be able to do it.I bet if Lennie were yelling at George for having a dead animal in his pocket that George would feel just like lennie did when george yelled at him.

Comment by billnyedascienceguy

The part that i remembered the most is pretty gross and that is when lennie had a dead mouse in his pocket.I thought that was sick.

Comment by psgeiger

That dead mouse is hard to get past, but it makes Lennie memorable, does it not? Steinbeck has a way of making his characters come to life.

Comment by Miss Fowler

The part that stuckout the most in chapter one was when they introduced the mice. I was not sure what the title meant.

Comment by curlygrace13

Curlygrace13 – “I was not sure what the title meant.” – Something tells me we’ll talk more about this. Just hang on a little while! 🙂

Comment by Miss Fowler

The part I remember the most is when Lennie goes after the dead mouse after George chicked it. Who keeps a dead mouse in their pocket?

Comment by nw61

i remember when Lennie told George he would live in a cave and leave George alone. I thought it was sad, but George really did want Lennie around.

Comment by rachypachy

George telling Lennie to get rid of the mouse is memorable because it foreshadows what happens with the puppy later.

Comment by clgarland

The part that stood out to me the most is that when Lennie kills the mouse. I see that it shows wrecklessness of him and he cant be trusted.

Comment by rwpollock
