The boss was mad at George and Lennie because they were not at the ranch in the moring like they were soupssed to. In a way he had a right to be upset but in another way no he did not.

The boss was originally mad at Lennie and George because they did not show up when they said that they were going to. Then he got mad at them because George was doing all the talking. I think he hasa reason to be mad at them because they came late when they were suposed to be working.

The boss was mad at George and Lennie because they showed up late in the first place and when the boss tried talking to him George did all of the talking. I think the boss had a reason to be mad at the two because if they wanted to job bad enough they could have atleast showed up on time to do the work.

Lennie and george didnt show up to work and if i was the boss i would flip out to because they skipped.I think that the boss had a right reason to be upset.

Comment by psgeiger

Lennie and George were late for the job, but they had an excuse that was acceptable. The boss was also mad because George was talking for Lennie and Lennie was not responding when the boss was talking to him. I can understanded why the boss was mad for this incident because no one likes it when you ask someone personally a question and have a conersation with them and they don’t respond back.

The boss was mad at George and Lennie because they were suppose to be in the ranch in the morning but they came in the afternoon. The boss had a reason to be mad because they were late for the job so his men were short handed.

the boss was mad at them because they got to the ranch late and george was doing all the talking especially for lennie wich you know had to be done.

Comment by epszczolkowski

The boss was mad at George and Lennie because they did not arrive at the ranch until the afternoon when they were supposed to be there in the morning. I think that the boss should be mad at George but not Lennie because Lennie wanted to get to the ranch the night before but George was the reason that they didint get there until the afternoon

The boss was mad at Lennie and George because they got to the ranch, will they will be working, late. I think that the boss had a right to be upset because it was their responsibility to get there on time and if you had a job like that now and you were late you would be fired.

Comment by knwilliam

The boss was mad at George and Lennie about getting to the ranch late. But when they were talking he noticed that George was speaking for Lennie and thought something was fishy. That is why he had a right to be upset.

Comment by clgarland

The boss was angry with them because they came in late. I think he has a ight to be mad because at any job now or back then if you weren’t on time you were going to get in trouble or not et the job period.

Comment by evanhouty

The boss was mad because when he was expecting George and lennie to show up they didnt, but they came later in the day. Then when they were there george kept speeking for Lennie and he was getting mad at them.

I think the boss was angry with George and Lennie because they were late. They were supposed to be working at the ranch the morning before they arrived. I do think he had a right to be angry, he had expected them to be there and that probably messed up his work schedule. I would be upset too.

Comment by rsborn

I agree with everyone, the boss was angry because Lennie and George were late for the job, and because George was talking for Lennie. The setting is in the depression, and people need all the help they can get. And I know I would have been mad if my employees showed up late. So no, I can’t blame the boss for being angry,he had a right to be.

The boss was mad because George and Lennie showed up a day late to work and George was doing all the talking for Lennie. I think the boss had the right to be mad because they were late to work.

Comment by jktubman

The boss was upset with George and Lennie because they came to the ranch late. He had a right to be upset because he was missing men from the work field but he didn’t really let them explain why they were late.

The boss was angry because Lennie and George came late for the job. They were supposed to show up in the morning and they didn’t. The boss has a right to be mad because when you pay money for someone to do a job or rely on them to get it done, the worker has to show up and take on his responsibilities.

Comment by laurenxxs

i think that the boss could have been a little more leniant on the two.
I really agree with laurenxxs

Comment by rsarah

The boss is angry with lennie and george because they were late. Yes i do think he should be mad. If someones expecting you to be there at a certain time you should be there.

Comment by gdpeter

The boss was angry because George and Lennie showed up late. He was also angry because George answered all of Lennie’s questions for him. I think he had the right to be angry because people are sopposed to show up on time for their jobs and the person who is asked a question should answer the question.

Comment by emearhart

You’re all doing really well here.

Comment by Miss Fowler

Their boss was angry at George and Lennie because they showed up late for the first day, which was the first issue; even with an acceptable excuse. The second problem was when George was answering questions for Lennie, because Lennies cannot handle answering them himself, which arose some questions about Lennie and George the boss had himself making him truely wonder if they are good for the job.

The boss was mad at George and Lennie because they were’nt at the ranch in the morning like they were suppose to be and the boss had every right to be angry because they should be doing what is expected of them.

Comment by janisd

The boss was mad at George and Lennie because they were late to the ranch and couldn’t go out with the morning group. I think he did have a right to be mad because he said to be there to work in the morning and George and Lennie should have listened.

Comment by Jacquiem

I agree with Jacquiem completley, the boss had every right to be mad at the two. They were late and had to catch up with everyone else. But I also think it worked out okay that they were late because they could get accuanted with their cabin and where they lived before they went off to work the next day.

The Boss was made at Geogre and Lennie because they were late for work. I think that he had a right to be mad because migrant workers are a dime a dozen so they should be on time if they want to keep their jobs.

Comment by ice165

The boss was angry because George and leenie were late for work. The boss had the right to be made at them because they wrer supose to be at work on time.

Comment by FSTARR

Yes, the boss had the right to be mad, but he still should have looked at their side of the story, the bus driver just randomly left them off and said “Oh, its just right near here ” you know, like ok if its so close then why cant you just take me there

Comment by cghirohito

The boss was angry with George and Lennie, because they were late to work on the very first day. The boss did have a reason to be angry. If anyone got a job, and were late on the first day, they would most likely get fired, because the boss would be furious.

Comment by nw61

The boss was angry with george and Lennie because they did not show up for work at the time that they wer supposed too. Yes, he had a right to be mad because he was expecting certain things to get done that couldn’t be done because george and Lennie weren’t there.

Comment by kkbruce

The boss was angry with George and Lennie because they were late to work. I think he did have a right to be mad because they told him that they were going to be their at that time and they weren’t.

Comment by derrty

George and Lennie were late for work.

Comment by skatergirl55

The boss was angry because George and Lennie had been a day late for work, and the boss was expecting them earlier. He had a right to be angry because he was expecting them to work for him the day before and they were unreliable. He was also angry and suspicious because George always spoke for Lennie.

Comment by rachypachy

The boss was upset with Lennie and George because he expected them to come in for work early but thet came in late. He also was kinda suspicious because George always spoke for Lennie.
